CAMP MACK WEDDING // BEKAH + BENJAMIN

June 19, 2015

Bekah and Benjamin’s Wedding Day has a special place in my heart, it was just beautiful. I remember Bekah saying something like “You will love it” and sure thing I did.

We got to know Bekah and Benjamin through our business, however all of us believe that it was truly God making our paths cross. Their story is so similar to Janae’s and mine and we immediately hit it off and became friends.

I was honored to capture their beautiful day, I was not only there to take pictures, I was there to celebrate with them! I can relate so well to Benjamin, leaving everything behind to come and pursue His loved one, it is a stretching  season but it surely has it’s rewards.

Bekah and Benjamin decided to do a “First Look” and let me tell you, it was one of the most special and emotional one’s I have ever witnessed and captured. It certainly show cased their love for one another.

Their ceremony was, in Benjamin’s words “above and beyond his dreams.” It was so especial to be a part of it, it took me back to around two years ago when Janae and I were standing there saying “I Do!” It was hard for me to keep tears of emotion and joy from rolling from my eyes, their whole day was so emotional, from their first look, to the end of their reception, and their ceremony was nothing short of awesome. It was the first ceremony I was ever at, where the Pastor gave the message in both English and Spanish, lucky me, I could understand both.  It was a true blessing to see Benjamin’s parents being able to be here for His big day. It gave me an idea of what it would had been like if my parents had been here for our wedding. They did a great job at combining cultures and traditions at their ceremony.

After the ceremony was over and we had taken all the pictures we needed, Benjamin and Bekah held hands and started walking towards their reception. There was something so special about seeing them do that, besides the fact that it made for great pictures, but just to see how relaxed and excited they were and think of all that God has for their future.

The reception was truly a celebration, from salsa, queso and frijoles, prepared by Benjamin’s mom, Bekah’s Grandfather and his brothers singing the traditional Smoker song that they sing at every special event, the piñata celebration to the sparkler send off before they headed out.

Bekah and Benjamin, we are so glad we have gotten to know you guys and we are looking forward to all the adventures we hope to share in the future.

Thanks to Sarah for helping capture their big day and as usual doing a great job.

Happy Friday!

p.s. Since Benjamin’s family is in Guatemala, I have also written this post in Spanish for them to enjoy. Scroll down to see their pictures!

Feliz Viernes!

Hugo

The Provision Bell, I am not sure if that is what it is called, but that is what I called it, this is a Guatemalan tradition where you get rice and beans dumped on your heads, as a symbol of provision and prosperity over your marriage. Janae and I had one ourselves!
