I always find it amazing how this business has allowed us to work with, meet, and become friends with such amazing people. It is something I never want to take for granted. The story of how we met Juan Carlos & Brittany is beautiful, and it always makes me laugh. When a mutual friend of ours initially told us about them, I thought to myself that it was doubtful that we would get to photograph their engagement photos, let alone their wedding. While we were in Guatemala this past January, a friend connected us, and within days of being told this amazing couple’s love story, we were shooting their engagement photos in beautiful Antigua, Guatemala. You can see their engagement photos HERE, it’s totally worth the pit stop. (I promise!)
As we shot their engagement photos, Hugo and I kept thinking, how amazing it would be to also photograph their wedding photos. The more and more we talked with them, we felt so connected to their story and journey as a couple, and knew we wanted to be there for their wedding day not just as photographers, but as friends and supporters! After their dreamy engagement photo session ended, we hopped back in our cars, said good-bye, and “hope to see you soon!” And that’s exactly what happened, a few months later we drove to Frankfort, Kentucky and got to be a part of their beautifully intimate wedding day.
Juan Carlos & Brittany are so dear, they’ve got the most beautiful hearts and calling on their lives as a couple. We have appreciated their kindness, genuine hospitality, and sense of humor. We’ve had a lot of great laughs with this couple. This day was amazing. We loved the intimate wedding ceremony and reception, the beautifully crafted details, and the overflowing joy of family and friends as two lives joined together.
Juan Carlos & Brittany, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day, it was a true honor. We are grateful to have been there, and look forward to the day we all get to hang out again. Thanks for welcoming us with open arms, we have found true friends in you. Welcome to the “Guatemalan-American husband and wife club.” 😉
The rain pulled us inside for a little while, but Juan Carlos and Brittany rocked it. These photos actually turned out to be some of my favorites. I love the simplicity of white walls!
