NEW HOLLAND, PA WEDDING // ANNIE + JON

June 29, 2015

Annie and Jon, since we met you guys at your engagement session we could tell that you two were brave and bold. After spending a day with you at your wedding and hearing all the awesome stories that friends and family had to share, I can say that you are indeed brave and bold. Jon moving all across the country to pursue his loved one and Annie getting to plan a wedding as soon as she could.

Before a wedding day we meet with our clients to plan a timeline for the day, every wedding day is different, and different factors, like wether or not a couple decides to see each other before the ceremony, play in the timing of the day, when I met with Annie to plan their timeline I knew that they were not planning to see each other before the ceremony and just moments before walking into our meeting I noticed that there was not to much time in between the ceremony and the reception, so I think one of my first questions was to ask if that was a mistake, to what Annie proceeded to explain that it was not, and that they were planning on taking pictures after the reception was over. Janae and I had done this once before, so I said I thought that should work out well, specially considering they were getting married almost on the longest day of the year, this decision shows how bold Annie and Jon are, trusting that we would be able to get great portraits after their reception was over.

Their big day came and it was full of friends and family, joy, laughter and even some tears as Annie and her dad were walking down the aisle. Once the ceremony was over we proceeded to take family pictures in the Sanctuary, we captured a picture of all of Annie’s family in the process, to which Annie’s mom later thanked me, stating that the last time they had all been in the same place at the same time was 8 years ago, since some of Annie’s siblings are missionaries in various countries, and since then their family had grown quite a bit, including Jon as the latest addition. Moments like that are the reason why we love what we do!

The reception was full of stories, poems and songs. The day had been overcast and light was going out rather quickly, once their reception was over, we decided to take pictures of their bridal party at the church to save some time in the logistics of moving their rather big bridal party as you will soon see. Everything worked out well for us, Annie and Jon remained calm and relaxed throughout their entire day and we were able to capture great portraits for them.

Annie and Jon, we hope the best for you two, we are excited to see where God will take you and you newly started family.  Thanks to Sarah for helping me capture this exciting day.

Happy Monday,

Hugo
