This wedding is very dear to me! Of course all the weddings we shoot are dear to me, but this one was for family. Vanessa is my younger sister, and what an honor it was to hold not only the title of photographer but also matron of honor on her day. Vanessa is a treasure to me and growing up by her side was always a treat. She is spunky, the life of the party, vibrant, brave, always striving for excellence, and willing to take on life’s challenges. Duane is her perfect match, solid, loyal, and kind. These two bring out the best in each other, and it means the world to me that I got to stand by their side as they committed their lives and future to each other.
This day was so fun. I’ll be writing a blog post later on about how I approached capturing the wedding day and being part of the bridal party as well. But for now let me tell you more about this amazing day! Vanessa and Duane were married behind an old wooden barn under a canopy of lace pendant flags, surrounded by some of the sweetest people. I am clearly bias, but these two have great family and friends. Duane & Vanessa chose to have their portraits taken at some local woods with romantic walls and arches. Their first look was marked with pure joy and kisses, and I am loving their romantic portraits. We had such a great team of people capturing their BIG day, thank you so much to Hugo and Sarah for all of your hard work and beautiful images.
Duane and Vanessa, your day was so grand. All of the time and detail you put into it making your day God honoring and beautiful, was well worth it! I am still blown away by your ceremony. The memory of my baby sister walking down the aisle and seeing Duane filled with tears of joy will be one that is hard to forget. Thank you so much for trusting us with to capture your wedding. We loved every moment of it. We love you both to the moon and back and can’t wait to see where God takes you on your adventure together.
