Two weeks ago we had the pleasure of going to Washington D.C.  As spring rolled in, we kept thinking how fun it would be to see the famed Washington D.C. blossoms. Neither of us have visited D.C this time of the year, and we quickly decided that this is something we want to do.

We have never been the type to plan a trip and then try and hit every major landmark along the way. Not that there is anything wrong with that, it’s just not our style. We love to take trips slow and easy, soaking in a little bit at a time. Our trip consisted of rising early, and getting to the blossoms while the sun was low and soft. We grabbed a quick breakfast at IHOP, and then made our way to Thomas Jefferson Memorial and the surrounding areas. The blooms are no joke, it’s truly magical. If you’re favorite season is spring you’ll definitely want to try and go sometime! Even though we tried to get there before the crowds, it was amazing how many people were out so early for this amazing season (rightfully so!) We were able to grab a few photos of Gloria & us, which are now some of favorites of ours for sure! The walk was beautiful, perfect for people watching and soaking in the warm day (75 degrees, it was heavenly!)

We strolled around for a good bit, and then made our way to the Washington D.C Zoo. Gloria loved it, as did we. A highlight of our trip was seeing Gloria’s reaction to the turtles at the zoo. She’s a big fan of turtles, and her little squeals of delight as she watched them swim around was just too sweet.
