If you’ve been following along on social media, you may have noticed that we completed a major project the beginning of this year. WE BUILT A HOUSE! One of our favorite aspects of our new home is getting to host family, friends, and pretty much ANYONE, so today we wanted to share a little more about our home, the building process we went through, and the AMAZING team that made it possible.
One of the reasons we choose to build is because we’ve got some seriously talented people in my family. My dad is a general contractor and owns ISM construction, and with the help of my brothers does an absolutely amazing job at building and designing beautiful custom homes. Having my dad and brothers build our home was always a dream of ours, and it’s crazy that it’s a reality now.
When designing our house, we wanted touches of Latin America to embody our home since it’s so much a part of who we are as a family. We strove to create a cozy Spanish vibe mixed with touches of timeless modern pieces. Our living room fireplace is one of our favorite features of the house, and I can’t thank my dad and Hugo enough for bringing my vision to life for it.
We also ordered hand-painted Mexican tile for our kitchen backsplash, and it is also another favorite feature in our home. We love color, and wanted a good base of neutrals and whites in our home, so that we could fill the space with colorful decor and subtle latin accents. Today we’re sharing images of our general living space. Promise we’ll do a separate post about our office space later. 😉 Our hope and dream for this home is that it will be a place of peace. A place where many can rest and be refreshed, and also a place where people can come and be inspired and creatively refreshed.
We can not thank the AMAZING team of people that worked on our home enough! It has meant the world to us. Your patience and dedication to your craft is unparalleled. Folks, if you are in need of an amazing team to build, or just help you with a project in your home these people are truly GOLDEN!
