Our history with Laura and Ivan goes back several years. Laura had contacted me about how she loved my work, and was interested in booking a mentor session with me. We talked about lighting, camera gear, editing, and all that fun photography stuff. At the end of the session we sat and talked about life, about our men, our history, and the future. Laura told me about her man, Ivan, and how they were talking about getting married. I instantly thought how cool it would be to shoot their wedding, when that day came, and sure enough soon Laura was engaged! She called me, so excited, so full of life and joy, and soon we were scheduled to shoot their “BIG” day.

So much about their day was perfect. One of the awesome parts was that these two were married at a SUNRISE wedding on our first anniversary, July 12! For sure the BEST day ever. Laura & Ivan said their vows while the sun rose, in her parents backyard, and they celebrated with probably the best breakfast I have ever eaten in my whole life. They had made-to-order omelettes, french toast, fruit and yogurt. To this day it is one of the most memorable weddings I have captured.

Getting to capture that season of Laura & Ivan’s life was so wonderful. I have loved their kindness, they are so friendly, easy-going, and so fun. Now I have the honor of being part of this new season. Now they’re no longer a family of two, but THREE. Not only did I get to hold sweet baby Mckenzie at her newborn session, but I got to witness her birth, I got to help the mid-wife, and cry tears of joy when Ivan & Laura met their baby girl for the first time.

I can not express how honored I am. Laura & Ivan, thank you, thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives in this way, to capture your BIG moments, to capture the start of your family, and the addition of Mckenzie to your lives. Your family is so beautiful. Mckenzie has the sweetest smile, and holds the record for the most smiley baby I’ve ever captured. Many Blessings Laura & Ivan, and Mckenzie. I can’t wait for our little girls to meet each other.
